Joining the DarkSide.

I have joined the DarkSide!

No, I’m not referring to Star Wars (although a Darth Vader figure stands in my backyard). I’m referring to a group of Australian and New Zealand writers who write speculative fiction with romantic elements.

DarkSiders are an affiliated group with the Romance Writers of Australia, aiming to support writers in their publication journey. Genres include fantasy, paranormal, dark urban fantasy, futuristic and everything in between. Though you will see members also write in other genres, the group also feature these works as well. As they say, the more books, the merrier!

With over eighty members, DarkSiders range from multi-published NY Times best-selling authors to those who are yet to be published. Their website, DarkSide DownUnder, features a blog which includes author interviews (DarkLight On…), topics on writing and speculative fiction (Magic Thursdays), and sharing author news such as events, new releases, pre-orders, etc (DarkSider News).

I became a DarkSider before leaving Romance Writers of Australia, but I can still be a member. This is good, because regular readers of this blog will know that I do not always write a happy ever after. It allows me to continue putting my books out and still be part of a community of writers.
