IWSG: What Would Readers Never Know About You from Your Work?

For this month’s question, I was really struggling to find an answer.

Honestly, I don’t know if it is due to the weather (we are officially in winter here in Australia), current world events, or because I have been struggling with some depression lately. It could even be all three! Either way, I came up with a couple of different things that readers may not know about me from my work.

I enjoy some science fiction

I’m a hopeless romantic

Okay, they might get to learn this!

I like cute things and I’m a dog person

I enjoy fantasy (especially when it looks like this) πŸ˜‰

What would readers never know about you from your work? Have world events started to take a toll on you? Have you been struggling with your writing lately?

The purpose of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group is to share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds.

  1. Let’s see, I don’t think anyone could tell from my writing that I have two sisters and LOVE going barefoot. And yes, world events are taking a toll on me.:-(

Hey, I finished Legacy and Other Short Stories. I enjoyed it!

Hi Priscilla. I can relate to having two sisters and going barefoot (well, except, maybe in winter). πŸ˜‰ My mind has been so fried lately with all that’s been going on I can’t think straight. I hope things settle down soon. Thank you so much for reading my collection of short stories! I’m glad you enjoyed it. πŸ™‚

  2. World events getting to me? Yes. I’m trying to find that balance between being informed and not get swallowed by the news. Sigh.

Yes, it feels a bit like walking a tightrope between the two, doesn’t it? It’s not easy. Hopefully, things will settle down soon. Take care!

  3. You crack me up. Red Shirts!. Hah!

I couldn’t resist that one, it was too good. πŸ˜‰

  4. Nothing wrong with enjoying science fiction!

I have to admit my writing productivity has been low lately. COVID and other world events are part of the problem. It’s so hard to focus when there’s so much scary stuff happening in the world, right?

Yes, sci-fi can be fun! I haven’t been coping too bad, but lately, with all these world events, it really hit me. My writing has suffered as a result. Normally I like to escape in my writing worlds, but I’ve been struggling. It’s time to turn off the noise, I think. I wish you all the best and hope you manage to work your way through it. Take care! πŸ™‚

  5. Hi,
I hope you find your way out of your depression. I didn’t realize it is winter in Australia. The weather could have some influence on your mood. For me, I know I have a lot on my plate at the moment so just trying to think ahead can affect my mood. I have to make myself deal with the present moment and not think about future occurrences that I would like to see happen
Wishing you all the best and thanks for being a part of IWSG.

    Shalom aleichem,

Thanks, Patricia. I think the weather does play a part, as I’m usually pretty happy when spring comes around! I tend to get ahead of myself sometimes too and need to remind myself to enjoy the present. Thanks for stopping by and being a co-host this month. Take care! πŸ™‚
